Michele A. Livingston is a native of Camp Hill, PA. She began painting at four years of age and later studied at the University D'Orsay in Paris and the University D'Antibes in Southern France. She holds a B.S. in Art Education from Kutztown University and a master's degree from Penn State University. For ten years Michele taught art in the Harrisburg School District. Creative inspiration called her to be a full-time artist and while traveling the world she participated in solo shows in Europe and Japan. She is known for her bold, imaginative design qualities, lavish foliage and atmospheric skies. Michele has authored four books, is a columnist, radio talk show host and spiritual counselor who has made numerous TV appearances.
The painting, Primavera, means "Spring" in Italian and was inspired by Botticelli's mythological "Primavera" in Florence. The painting shows the three graces—Faith, Hope and Charity—dancing to the rites of spring under lush peach trees. The figures themselves were derived from Gauguin's painting entitled "Breton Girls Dancing."
